We’ll be adding some more info here soon, but for now…

A few years ago in Mozambique Julian Baylis (check him out in this video: The Lost Forest of Mount Mabu) discovered a mountain that looked totally inaccessible. Sheer granite cliffs hundreds of meters high all the way around, but on the top a pristine patch of forest. According to locals no one had ever been up there.

What did he do with this information? Planned an expedition to climb it and be the first humans to step foot into this forest.

Who’s doing this? Amongst others, myself and Richard Young. When? We fly out on the 8th of May!!! Obviously as a scientist, this is a once in a life time (once in many life times?) chance to go somewhere no one has ever been before and almost certainly discover a whole load of species new to science. Assuming of course that we can climb in (we’re taking some professionals to help with this bit obviously!!). I’m going to be writing a blog and will send link when this is set up, so those that are interested can follow the progress of the trip in more detail.
